"Babe Ruth in Dugout with Joe Cronin of the Sox and Bill McKechnie, his Manager with the Braves," Leslie Jones, April, 1935. Babe Ruth was a player/coach with the struggling Boston Braves for the early part of the 1935 season, having retired from the Yankees, and it was as a Boston Brave that he hit his 714th career home run. However, an injury on May 30 of that year ended his major league playing career forever.
